Dr. Jyothilakshmi R.

Dr. Jyothilakshmi. R has completed her BE from Mysore University. Completed her M.Tech Degree in Production Engineering Systems Technology from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka with first rank and Gold Medal. Completed Ph. D in the field of Renewable energy in June 2017 from VTU, Karnataka. Got LLB degree from Karnataka State Law University in the year 2023. She has also completed Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from Delhi Law School. Was a DAAD, Germany Fellow in the year 2011 for”Sustainable Habitats India”. She is Continuing her research in the field of Biogasification(Solid waste Management), Advanced Materials etc. Has got twenty years of teaching experience in the department of Mechanical Engineering. M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Has authored a book on “ Non Destructive Testing”, Subhash Publication for Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka. Has got Excellent Paper award during 5^th International Conference on solid Waste Management held on Nov 2015 at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Is a Secretary for women wing of Swadeshi Vignana Andolana, Karnataka which is an NGO involved in spreading spirit of science and technology for rural and urban India. Has published around 101 research papers in reputed journals and conferences. Applied for 16 patents. Got funding from Government of Karnataka and AICTE, New Delhi. Gave an Invited talk at IIT, Guwahati, India in June-2014. Has been a resource person for 40^th Indian Social Congress conducted by Indian Academy of Social Sciences, Allahabad, India at University of Mysore during Dec 2016. Guided around 15 PG students and 4 Ph. D students. Two got awarded with Ph.D degrees. Conducted around 5 Faculty development Programs with the financial support from AICTE and other Government funding. Is a life member for Indian Society of Technical Education and Institution of Engineers. Got IConSWM(International conference on solid waste management) Excellence Award 2020 in the field of energy sustainability and circular economy. Travelled across various countries such as USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Maldieves, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxemberg etc. Presented a paper in 5^th International Conference on Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures held at Institut Clement Ader, Toulouse, France in July 2026. Research areas includes Urban Solid Waste Management(SWM) systems which involves segregation at the source, Recycling, Bio gasification, Bio composting. Got Government of Karnataka, Vision group on science and Technology RGSF research funding for “Biomethanation Plant for biodegradable Waste” for the year 2017-18. Completed a consultancy project on Plastic waste management for Waste Impact Trust, Bangalore. Got excellence in Technical Innovation Award- 2026 from International House of Education, Bangalore Chapter in May 2026. Got winner(10L Cash Prize) award in 9^th Edition TECHgium Event organized by L&T Technology Services in May 2026. Involved in various Solid WasteManagements project with CST(IISc, Bangalore) and BBMP, Bangalore. Current research also involves advanced materials for Energy storage applications, Development of Bio- Materials for Medical and Aerospace applications.
