Dr. M. Rajesh

Dr. M. Rajesh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, with over 25 years of teaching experience and 2.5 years of industry experience as a Production & Quality Engineer. He holds a Ph.D. from M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology, an M.Sc. (Engg.) by Research from BMS College of Engineering, and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, also from BMS College of Engineering.

His research interests span ergonomics and human factors, workplace design optimization, lean manufacturing, and the application of Design of Experiments and Taguchi methods to industrial and automotive problems. He has authored over 25 publications in international and national journals and conferences, holds four published Indian patents with three more selected for grant, and has authored the book Introduction to Human Factors and Ergonomics (2024) besides co-editing Next Generation Materials: Recent Advances in Engineering Sciences (2025).

He has secured funded research projects from the UGC and RIT's R&D seed fund, and has led consultancy engagements in lean manufacturing for industry partners. He is a Fellow of the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE), a recipient of the Dr. J. M. Mahajan Award, and currently guides four Ph.D. scholars. He also serves on the Board of Studies and Board of Examination at RIT and other affiliated institutions, and is actively involved in industry outreach and professional bodies including the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering (USA).
