Dr. Kavita Avinash Patil

Dr. Kavita Avinash Patil is an Assistant Professor at M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, where she has been serving since July 31, 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Machine Learning from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). With 14 years of experience in academia, she has previously served as an Assistant Professor at New Horizon College of Engineering from October 2021 to July 2024 and at East Point Group of Institutions from August 2012 to September 2021.

Dr. Kavita specializes in Machine Learning and Biomedical Signal Processing, with a particular research focus on osteoporosis detection using radiographic imaging and deep learning techniques. She has contributed to the research community through seven Scopus-indexed journal publications and six IEEE conference papers.

Her research interests encompass Digital Image Processing, Machine Learning, VLSI Design, and Biomedical Systems. She possesses technical expertise in Python, MATLAB, VHDL/Verilog, and Google Cloud technologies. Her academic and research contributions reflect a strong interdisciplinary approach, integrating computational intelligence and biomedical engineering to address real-world healthcare challenges.
