Vijaya Kumar B. P.

Dr. Vijaya Kumar B. P. is a Professor and Head of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. With 37 years of extensive teaching and research experience and 20 years as Head of Department, he specializes in Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning applications across mobile networks, IoT, and sensor networks. His research focuses on resource management, mobility management, connectivity management, and dynamic routing in mobile ad-hoc and sensor networks using swarm computing and game-theoretic approaches. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science (2003), M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology from IIT Roorkee (1992) with honors, and B.E. in Electronics and Communications from Mysore University (1987) with distinction. He has guided multiple research scholars, published extensively in reputed journals and conferences, and led numerous funded projects including ISRO, AICTE, and DST initiatives. His contributions include protocol engineering, conformance testing, and the application of neural networks to solve optimization problems in communication networks.
